Through a series of unfortunate events, I lost my son when he was a baby while I was stationed in the Philippines long ago. After nearly thirty years of searching, I found him - only to discover that his time was short. I have lost him yet again but I came to know him in the last few years of his life and I loved him as if he had been with me always. He had a great love for me too and his greatest desire was to spend time with me... as much as I would give him.

By chance, I discovered him on this flickr page. He had been searching for me his entire life. Through Facebook, Google Hangouts, email and phone we connected. We discussed, argued, fought, laughed and loved. Shortly after connecting with him in the fall of 2014, we obtained a visa for him and he came to our house in the Colorado mountains where he discovered cold, snow and Christmas.

Now, his struggle to live has ended tragically and my heart is heavy with sorrow. Rest in peace, my son. I shall remember and miss you always.

Perhaps as time goes on, I'll add more to this page. If you have anything to contribute - pictures, stories or memories of Chard and would like to share them here, please contact me.
